What does the name Ashlen mean?
Ashlen is a spelling of Ashlyn, pronounced the same way, so it shares Ashlyn's meaning and origin.
Ashlyn is an American spelling of the Irish girls' name Aisling, from the Irish word aisling 'dream, vision', also the name of an 18th-century poetic genre in which Ireland appears to the poet as a woman. Wiktionary describes Ashlyn as an anglicized Aisling shaped with the -lyn ending; it also looks like a blend of Ashley and Lynn, and many American parents probably chose it that way. It appears in US records from the 1960s.
aisling (Irish, “dream, vision”)
How sure is this? Probable. Some bearers' names are an Ashley + Lynn blend rather than a form of Aisling.
