What does the name Castiel mean?

Castiel is best known as the angel character in the US TV series Supernatural, introduced in 2008; SSA first records the name in 2009. The writers seem to have adapted Cassiel, an angel named in Jewish, Christian and Islamic mystical writings, sometimes as the angel of Saturn. The meaning of Cassiel is not established, though like other angel names it ends in -el 'God'. Wiktionary lists Castiel without an etymology.

-אֵל (-el) (Hebrew, “God (as in angel names)”)

How sure is this? Uncertain. The TV origin is clear; the derivation from Cassiel and the meaning of Cassiel are not documented.
