What does the name Keyla mean?

Keyla has no documented etymology in the sources we checked; Wiktionary lists it as a female given name without an origin. It is used mostly in Spanish-speaking families in the Americas and may be a respelling of Kayla or a form of the Spanish name Keila. Keilah is also a town of Judah in the Bible (1 Samuel 23:1), but we found no evidence that the modern name is taken from it.

How sure is this? Not documented. Possibly a variant of Kayla or Keila; no documented origin.

Related names: Kayla, Keila, Kaila.
