What does the name Moshe mean?

Moshe is the Hebrew form of Moses. Exodus 2:10 says Pharaoh's daughter named him because she drew him out of the water, linking Moshe with the Hebrew verb mashah, "to draw out"; DMNES follows this. Wiktionary notes that many scholars see an Egyptian origin, from msj, "to give birth", found in names such as Thutmose. It is a common name in Jewish families.

How sure is this? Disputed. The Bible's explanation ('drawn out') and an Egyptian origin ('born of') are both held.
