What does the name Janiya mean?

Janiya is a spelling of Janiyah, pronounced the same way, so it shares Janiyah's meaning and origin.

Janiyah is a modern American coinage with no documented etymology; Wiktionary lists it simply as a modern coinage. It appears in US birth records from the mid-1990s and looks like a blend of the popular Jan-/Jani- beginning (as in Janae and Jania) with the -iyah ending of names such as Aaliyah and Saniyah. Some sites connect it to John or Jane ('God is gracious'), but we found no source showing that parents formed it that way, so we do not give it a meaning.

How sure is this? Not documented. Modern coinage; any meaning would be borrowed from similar-sounding names.

Other explanations you may read: Feminine of John, 'God is gracious'.
