What does the name Jayden mean?

Jayden is a modern American coinage with no older meaning of its own. Wiktionary describes it as invented by parents in the late 20th century who joined the initial sound of Jay with the popular -den ending of names such as Aidan, Braden, Caden and Hayden. Because it also resembles Jay and Jade, it has been given to both boys and girls from the start. Some name sites link it to the biblical Jadon, but we found no evidence that this connection explains the modern name.

How sure is this? Not documented. A late-20th-century coinage; any specific meaning given for it is borrowed from other names.

Other explanations you may read: From the biblical name Jadon, 'God has heard'.
