What does the name Kenzie mean?

Kenzie is a short form of Mackenzie, used for girls and boys. Mackenzie is a Scottish surname from Gaelic MacCoinnich, son of Coinneach. Wiktionary explains the odd z: in older Scots the surname was written with the letter yogh (ȝ), which looked like z and was later read that way. Coinneach is the source of the name Kenneth, and Wiktionary connects it with the saint's name Cainnech, literally "handsome." So Kenzie means "son of the handsome one" at two removes.

MacCoinnich (Scottish Gaelic, “son of Coinneach”)Cainnech (Old Irish, “handsome”)

How sure is this? Probable. Wiktionary only. Kenneth also anglicizes a second Gaelic name (Cináed), so 'handsome' applies only to the Coinneach line.
